Business Books For Nurse Solopreneurs
Twelve And A Half by Gary Vaynerchuk
This is my favorite one on the list! Why? Because it’s one of my favorite topics when it comes to business. Emotional Intelligence. And it’s one of THE most important things to your success in business. A MUST-read for any nurse who wants to understand what it really takes to be a good leader.
Money Drunk Money Sober by Julia Cameron & Mark Bryan
Just behind emotional intelligence are personal finances and financial literacy for the overall health of your business success. This topic is so important. You need to have a good relationship with money to be successful in business. Cash flow is the lifeline of your business.
Without money being spent and managed properly, it will be very difficult to continue with a healthy lifeline. Along with finances, this book also touches on emotional intelligence as well. An excellent read for any nurse who feels they need a stern talking to about money before taking the leap.
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F@ck by Mark Manson
This is a little more philosophical that the others. It focuses on the fact that we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. You’re a nurse. I know you know that.
So, you might as well make the best of it while you’re here. The only thing you can control is yourself. So, do what makes you happy and don’t care what other people think about it. This is a great read for any nurse who is worried about what others might think of them.
Never Split The Difference by Chris Voss
Business is business. That means that if you work for yourself you have to be comfortable with negotiating. It comes with the territory. Even just a basic understanding can go a long way. This is a great book if you are intimidated by just the thought of having to negotiate anything in your business.
The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
This is an oldie but goodie! Because it’s such a good one. It’s regarded by many as the fundamental element they contributed to their long-term success, and for good reason.
The book outlines the 7 habits that very successful people have. And it dives into figuring out what success means to you. Highly recommend this one for any nurse who wants to set bigger and better goals and stick with them.
